HISTORY

MAJOR CLUB MILESTONES

• 2007: Dave and Sandy ride Segways for the first time.

• 2008: Tom and Barbara Davis ride Segways for the first time and Dave and Sandy buy the Mt Dora Segway dealership. Tom and Barbara meet Dave.

• 2009: First Segway Riders Club meeting held in February.

• 2014: Club is reorganized with officers and a board. The Exploration Committee is formed.

• 2015: After giving more than $35,000 of fundraising donations to Segs4Vets, the club begins buying Segways for local disabled veterans.

• 2020: Due to Covid restrictions, Segways are no longer available to rent and the club goes from over 400 members to fewer than 40 Segway owners. The club's by-laws are revised to reflect a new club structure.
